    Default THE USAGE OF "own"

    Hello! How is it going?

    Thanks in advance!

    My questions:

E.X. I donīt mind your throwing YOUR OWN clothes on
    the floor.

E.X. Do you mind my throwing YOUR clothes on the floor?

1.- Is there any rule for using "own" in English?

2.- Must I use OWN in the first sentence and not
neccessarily in my second one or Must I use it
    in both of them?

    Thanks in advance!

    Jesús

It is there for emphasis. In the first sentence, 'your own clothes' suggests that the person throws both their own clothes and the speaker's, which, presumably, annoys the speaker who cares about their clothes.
