Hi,
I am having real trouble with knowing how to determine what language form refers to and structure used for each. Do you have any tips on the following?
EG can't
Would won't be a noun, an abbreviation of will not..?Is there any books or sites which can direct me in the right direction?
Also how would you define the lang form and structure in a sentence?
EG
If I try to remember too many things, I will forget them all.
Thank you!

Hello Dot.
[1] The verb can't is a contraction of can + not. "can" is a modal auxiliary verb and "not" is an adverb.
[2] The verb won't is a contraction of will + not.
[3] Conditional Sentence: If ..., will ... .
EX: If I try to remember too many things, I will forget them all.
