| In general, it would be called a "restaurant chain." Sometimes we say "chain restaurant" when describing a particular place; for example: "Would you like to eat at TGIFriday's?" "I don't know, what is it like?" "It's a chain restaurant - they serve steaks, burgers, and ribs. Sort of like Applebee's." |
