Word order
Hello everyone,
Do you think this sentence structure ( = word order) is ok?
"All in all, they were trapped in their own flat as a result of racial hatred by white teenager gangs."
Im not quite sure about it.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Word order
.
Yes, except the adjective is teenage. All in all is odd but acceptable, I suppose.

Re: Word order
While it's true that "teenage" is an adjective, it is not the gang which is teenage, but the individual members of the gang. I think I would recast that part to "gangs of white teenagers".
I, too, am not sure about "all in all". I think it might be better as "in short", but that depends on the wider context of the passage.

All in all is correct but not so much used.
ex.:
Everything being taken into account[ All in all] the criticism seemed fair.
The problem in this sentence is with "white teenager gangs"
All in all, they were trapped in their own flat as a result of racial hatred by gangs of white teenagers
