Using periods to indicate pauses in speech
I have two questions regarding the use of periods as pauses in speech. Exemplary sentence:
"Do... Do you think he would do that?"
First, is it standard to use only three periods to indicate a pause or a lull in speech, or does the three-period rule apply only to ellipses? Second, is the first letter of the first word that comes after the periods supposed to be capitalized, as if it is beginning a new sentence?
I've been wondering about this for a while, and I've done a Google search for it but to no avail. I'd really appreciate some help.

Re: Using periods to indicate pauses in speech
I use three and I capitalise as I see fit. In your example, where it's repeating the first word of the sentence, I can't see why not, but if the next word were 'you', I wouldn't.
