Default a noble mouth wash ?

Hello !

I need your help again for this expression "a noble mouth wash with a good finish" in the following dialog :

I : So you're still set on the rack of lamb, the crown roast and what was that brioche ?

B : With camembert.
(The camembert is a french cheese with a strong taste which may give bad breath but which is delicious !)

I : Oh well, what the hell ? I'll just be sure to pick up a noble mouth wash with a good finish.

B : Oh you don't have to do the shopping !

Does that mean that I. want to buy some mouthwash with a good perfume to have fresh breath or that she wants to buy another dessert ?

Hello Polaris

It's probably a humorous phrase for "a bottle of wine". It's a "mouthwash" because you rinse your palate with wine to taste it; "to have a good finish" is a term from wine-tasting (= "to have a good aftertaste").

All the best,

MrP

You're welcome, Polaris!

It depends on the teacher and the student in question, Mohsin!
