Default How to teach English

I have taken upon myself the challenge of teaching English to young and middle aged people in my locality. The first step would be to teach them Alphabets; then Numbers- and the way to do this would be to draw equivalent from the vernacular.
After a person has learnt the 26 alphabest and numbers upto say, 1000, what should he/ she be now taught? Verbs? Adjectives? Words? ...what?

I wouldn't start with the alphabet. I'd start with some useful words and get them saying things first. I'd also break numbers down and start with the lower numbers, and worry about thousands later.

Welcome, Raj.

It's a good idea to introduce the subject-verb-object structure of English. You could start with personal pronouns and verbs, ask who and what, add in adjectives, ask what kind of, then add in adverbs, ask where and when.

What a great service you're providing your community!
