Default Basic English lessons for Taxi drivers

Hello,
I live in Mysore, India, quite a popular tourist destination. I find most of the taxi drivers here do not know to speak in 'understandable' English, from the tourist point of view. I wish to help a couple of them. Please let me know whether there any online / downloadable lessons, or guidelines which are specific to teaching these taxi drivers?
Thanks in advance!
Soundar

I don't know of any courses that specific, but there are loads of courses for general toursim, which might help:

Thanks for your reply, understand Thailand / Singapore Governments have a syllabus to help taxidrivers learn English. If you're aware of this programme kindly let me know where I can get the details.

Maybe I can help you. This website isn't a syllabus for taxi drivers but an online lesson introduced by PM Lee:

Many thanks to Ed and Fazzu, the Singapore website is useful to a limited extent. A syllabus specific to helping Taxi drivers would be of great help, kindly keep the search on.

Best wishes

Soundar,

you may try posting to the craigslist site(s)
and perhaps someone from Thailand/S'pore
may respond with the information.

http://singapore.craigslist.org
http://bangkok.craiglist.org

I had read that taxi drivers in Beijing are
being trained in English conversation
to prepare them for the 2008 Olympics.
I don't know if they have a course such
as the one you mentioned in your post,
but again, you can try to post at the
Beijing Craigslist site.
http://beijing.craigslist.org

Good luck.
