| Are there any more adjectives which are exceptions to the rule? Furthermore, please correct me whenever I make a mistake, if possible. Thank you very much in advance.[ Is "in advance" correctly used in this sentence?] Thank you everybody for being so nice with me! |

| You'll see both shyer and shier. I think the reason for not making the change could be about keeping the word recognisable, the same way many write ageing not aging. Yes, 'in advance' is correct. |
