I think this is an ambiguous question, The uses of English Language are exactelly like the uses of : French, Italian,German,Arabic, Japanese,Chinese,Dutch and many other languages.
English is the first language in the world, so you have to learn it.

Aircraft pilots, doctors, ship captains, aircraft controlers, politicians, radio operators, telephone operators, hotel workers, taxi drivers, airline workers, police... etc.
