Default is this sentence correct?

Is this sentence grammatically correct? Is seem like the that the modifier, being engrossing and fascinating, is littlebit weird, so i am not sure that the sentence is correct or not

Being engrossing and fascinating, the book kept my attention because I read the book without stopping and finished the book within one day.

Default Re: is this sentence correct?

It sounds a bit stilited to me; are both adjectives necessary? I'm not sure about the way 'because' is used, and see no need for the repetition of 'the book'. I would probably use something like this:
The book was engrossing and I read it in a single session.
