Default carry / bring

Which one (carry or bring) is correct to you in the following sentences?
(By the way, did I write the sentence above correctly?)
  1. You should carry/bring an umbrella with you.
  2. Many tourists carry/bring an umbrella in case it rains.
(you can suggest some other sentences, if you want.. I'd be pleased!)

Default Re: carry / bring

Hi, Lenka,
I'd choose carry in both cases. Bring implies some movement in the direction of the speaker,eg
Why don't you ever bring your pictures (to show us)?
May I bring my friends to dinner?

Bring does not specify HOW the delivery is done.
Carry often implies holding things in hands or on shoulders.
I have not looked up any sources, just IMHO.
