"Should the higher dose has a bigger impact on the environment compared to the lower dose and should the effets' difference be statistically significant yet unreasonable, one ought to consider recommending the lower dose."
Hi, I find this sentence tricky, but I have tried to make it a bit fancy. Have I done it well?
Thanks,

'have' here is to be non-finite.
'compared to' or just simply 'than'.
compared to the lower one. Avoid repeating words.
Also I would omit the second 'should'.
Yet should be still I think.
'effects'' must be a typo.
and the difference in their effects be stat. sign... .
Should the higher dose have a bigger impact on the environment than the lower one and the difference in their effects be statistically significant still unreasonable, the lower dose ought to be recommended.
I put it in passive to evade the problem of using two one's referring to two different things.

I think it would be difficult to find that 'one' refers to the dose, so I would stay with 'dose'.compared to the lower one. Avoid repeating words.
Well, the second 'should' adds emphasis and clarifies the sentence, I think. Also I would omit the second 'should'.
I'm not sure -- it doesn't sound natural to me. Maybe 'though' would work here (though I think yet is better and has a slightly different meaning), but not still.Yet should be still I think.
Yes, indeed it was!'effects'' must be a typo.
Rather 'the difference between their effects'.and the difference in their effects be stat. sign... .
Then, I would stay with
"Should the higher dose have a bigger impact on the environment compared to the lower dose, and should the difference between their effects be statistically significant yet unreasonable, one ought to consider recommending the lower one."
I've added the comma before 'and should' and changed the last 'dose' to 'one'.
Thanks!Best wishes,

Any other teachers would like to help me?

Is it fine?

What do you mean by 'unreasonable' here?
'unimportant from the practical point of view' -- now I see it's a totally wrong usage. Then:Originally Posted by tdol

And now?

OK, that makes sense.
