hello there
can someone explain to me the differences for Recent, moment, now and present, thank?
Recent means sometime in the near past, but this depends on the context - "in recent days/weeks/years" are all correct. For example - "The weather has been good in recent days"; "global warming has become important in recent years".Originally Posted by kahhong
Moment can be used in different ways: "at the moment" = now:"in a moment" = in a short time from now (I will do it in a moment); "at that moment" - a specific time in the past.
Present (apart from its meaning as a "gift") is almost the same as "now" - "at present"/"at the present time".
Hope this helps
