Default Expressions

What do these expressions mean? Any examples, please?
"Nothing grows faster than a fish from the time he bites until he goes away."
"Fishing stimulates the brain--also the imagination."
"The tragedy of life is what dies inside a man while he lives."
THANKS A LOT!

Default Re: Expressions

The fishing metaphors refer to fishermen exaggerating (lying) about the size of the fish they caught.

The other metaphor is a little too deep (and, unfortunately a little too true) for me to fully explain here.
