I'd like to ask a question spotted on BBC "As well as the main home there's a theme park and a zoo." Should not the main verb be "are" instead of is? Thank you for your time Joey

No, because the first noun is in singular. Regards

This is an area where's there's a lot of dispute. Some say that 1 + 1 makes it plural, but many feel happier with a singular verb next to a singular verb. I go with Humble on this and would use the singular, but not everyone would agree.
