Default drank it out of the can / you got screwed

please help me out with these two question . thanks !

Question one : how to understand " drank it out of the can" here.

Ross: (Ross is lovelorn .clutching a beer can and sniffing) This was
Carol's favorite beer. She always drank it out of the can, I should have known.

Joey: Hey-hey-hey-hey, if you're gonna start with that stuff we're outta here.

Chandler: Yes, please don't spoil all this fun.

----------------------------------------------------

Question two : what 's " you got screwed" ?

Joey: Ross, let me ask you a question. She got the furniture, the stereo, the good TV- what did you get?

Ross: You guys.

Chandler: Oh, God.

Joey: You got screwed.

Chandler: Oh my God!

Drink out of the can- it means rather than pouring it into a glass. I don't know if this is considered rude in the States.

Screwed- this means he did badly out of the deal. It also can be used to mean 'have sex', but I don't think so here.

Well, it's not considered rude where I'm from.

You're right. It has nothing to do with sex there. (Ross might be wishing he was getting some tho.)

:)

Carol, Ross' ex-wife, left Ross for a woman. Carol is gay; Ross was unaware of that when he was married to her, and he makes reference to it when he says, "I should have know" (She drank beer out of the can).

Traditionally, men drank from the can, and women drank out of a glass; women who drank beer from the can were viewed as being like men. Today, however, if you walk into any club, you'll see both men and women drinking beer out of a bottle. It's common practice these days; It's Ross that's traditional in his thinking.

I'm afraid I completely missed the code. I didn't know the background as I don't watch television.
