Default odd jokes

two people staring at the outside from the window in a train:
-do you see that left?
-well, i didn't see a left but it was a good right.

i've been told left and right refer to boxing punches. but i don't see how that is funny nor how it really makes any sense.

---
one person is lifting up a car and his hands get dirty touching the bumpers.
the one who is answering is watching the scene.
-is that good?
-i'm not really sure, i'll be in the hotel naked.

is that good : i think, that's enough, i'm dirty enough.
but the answer sounds weird to me. what is he talking about him getting naked???

Possopo,

Where did you find these "jokes"? They are beyond my understanding.

Regards,

Fieldmouse

Thank you Possopo.

In which case I can understand the meaning of "a left" and "a right". These terms would apply to experienced surfers who can manoeuvre their boards in the direction they choose. I still don't think there is a joke to be found here though.

As far as the man with the dirty hands from the car bumper is concerned - what has he to do with surfing?

Best wishes,
Fieldmouse

hehe, well, when i was saying surfing video, it's actually one of these films where a lot happens besides the surfing. a bunch of surfers are driving through europe, camping, hanging and fooling around, doing a lot of stupid things and actually not surfing that much:)

When you say "surfing video," do you mean a movie or film? Is this a DVD you're watching? What is the title? Sometimes it's hard to catch the meaning of a joke from a short snippet of dialog. I'm just wondering if this is a movie I've seen.

In regards to surfing "a left" and "a right" could also mean "a left break" and "a right break" which refers to the direction waves break in a particular area of a beach, when viewed from the beach (or if your out in the surf when viewed from the ocean).

to Ouisch:

it is "drive thru Europe", a video where a few surfers, including kelly slater, are travelling portugal, france, spain and italy to find lovely waves to surf on:)

Sounds like a modern version of 'The Endless Summer'

A great surfing movie.
