original
Hello Forum,
I am looking for one word which is a perfect and precise synonym of the noun "original". I saw it once in a text, immediately loved it and immediately forgot it.
However, it must be in formal language and in legal/business context (concerning a genuine legal document = first copy: with fresh-ink signatures and multicoloured stamples).
Any ideas?

Master document
Master copy (sounds like a copy but means the same as Master document)
Primary or Source document?
