I'm just an average ordinary guy,I'm a Chinese,or rather a student.I run into the forum .I have a strong desire to speak a fluent English,learning a foreign language was one of most difficult experiences for me, once in a while I cried for frustating,and sometimes I felt like giving up. Most of Chinese speak "Chinglish ",they get high marks in English exam,but they can't read ,as well as listen.I don't wanna speak "chinglish".Can you tell me what I should do,I mean,how do you learn English.Can you give me some advice,thank you!

How much conatct do you have with native speakers?

Can you get English-language videos with Chinese subtitles? Some of these have translations that are not even close to being literal, others are quite good. At least you will hear English spoken by natives and have some idea what they are saying.

I attended a lecture given by an Indian doctor a few days ago, I marvel at that her English is so fluent,but I don't marvel her pronunciation,she pronounced like that,for example ,she pronounced "table" like ['deibl]，I'm very confused.By the way,I rarely contact native speakers.

I watched English-language the other day,such as "Sex and the city","Desperate wife", "Mean girl",I thought it's great!

Some speakers from South Asia do pronounce some sounds differently from BrE and AE speakers. When Indian call centres started opening, there were many recorded problems with communicating with customers in the UK and the US, so even though they both spoke the same language, the pronunciation caused some difficulties. Another sound is the 'v' sound sounding like a 'b'. As a language that is spoken in different countries, there are differences. However, I think that within a globalised society, these differences will become less marked because of the increase in international communciation and the need to make that as easy as possible.
