Could you please explain which word should be used in the following situation?

a. I put something on the table.
b. I rush out of a room.
c. I pat someone on one's shoulder or head.

They sound like actions to me- act is something bigger or more official to me.

We have Acts of Parliament in the UK, which is when a law is passed, so that's why it seems bigger to me.
