| I am a new member and I hope to share some great information in the future. I have an urgent question to be answered as soon as possible please. I need it for a class I have first thing tomorrow morning Why doesn't 'jeans' take a article in this sentence? Chris has got a suit on but Jim has got jeans on. Why does 'trousers' tak a article in this sentence? Look at the girl in the trousers. I know that 'the' is the definite article and refers to specific things, but why not with 'jeans' and why with 'trousers' if both referes to one piece on clothing and both are in the plural form when they refer to one? I would really appreciate your help with this because I can't find the answer. Kind regards Alana |
