My question is, why does it read "The Fishes". I thought that the plural of "fish" is "fish" as well. Is this an exception? Or is it a mistake? |
It is an exception here , but otherwise the noun "fish" usually has 2 forms in the plural :fish and fishes [ varieties of fish : mackerel, carp, salmon, etc.]
