Hi all,
Please help out with the following statement.
Choose the statement below that's true:
A) An accent affects only pronunciation
B) Accent can change the meaning of a word
C) Every word has one and only one accent
D) Every word has both an accent and a stress

Hi Candy
I think 'B) Accent can change the meaning of a word' is the correct answer. None of the other options are completely true.

I am probably being stupid here (too much time on the beach today) but what do you mean by accent when it is applied to English?
