I am just pointing out that it was kind of him to do so.) or 2-He sent me these documents and that was a kind thing to do. (I am informing you that he sent me these documents and I am also telling you that that was a kind act,) |

| The first is morelikely. The second is possible, but it doesn't strike me as the most obvious use. |
