Default The Smiths' song

Hi,

In one of the songs of this great band lead singer sings "The Queen is dead, boys and it's so lonely on a limb". Of course i understand the first part of this sentence, but what does "lonely on a limb" mean?

it means alone , without support,especially in opinions or argument..out on a limb
