In the following sentence, do I need the comma right afer San Jose? I suppose I do need it but am not too sure. Please advise. Thank you.
Mr. Lee sold his personal residence on 1818 Jones Street, San Jose, in year 2004.
You don't need a comma after Jose, but you do need to say, "in the year 2004.
Hello,
Yes, in the year, but I am sure there must be a comma, because San Jose is an apposition (specification).
Any more opinions?
I seem to have heard people say the following:
- I did this in (year) 2004, or I did this in year 2004.
- I did this in the year of 2004.
Thank you, anyway.
