desperate! reported speech
Reported speech.
I have to change this sentence into reported speech.
This is my first visit to England.
Which is correct.
She said this was her first visit to England.
She said that was her first visit to England.
I desperately need a quick answer on this one.
Thanks

I'd plum for example 1, "She said this was her first visit to England.", because I assume from the original sentence that the visit is still in progress. ;-)

I wouldn't use either this or that. Instead, I would say, "She said it was her first visit to England." Or, I might say, "She said she was visiting England for the first time."
