take an interview ?
Normally we say ' go for an interview ' right ? How about ' take an interview ' ?
Some native speaker said it is not to use ' take ' , but it seems that nothing wrong with it, though.
Any comments ? Thanks

Re: take an interview ?
You can
take a message,
take a phone call,
take a break,
take a bus,
but you can't take an interview. The reason being, well, maybe 'take' has something to do with the hands.
:D

An example,
saying " I'll take a rest" is regarded by some as colloquial, so in writing they would say "I'll have a rest".

Could you possibly 'take an interview' if you are conducting it? I can't say that I've heard it, though.
