ex: 1.Having found a hotel, we looked for someplace to have dinner. (possitive sentence)
2. Not having a car, she finds it difficult o get around. (negative sentence)


is it right that when you talking about a positive sentence, it always mean you are talking about the past while negative sentence mean present?( when you using "having done")

this sentence is in present form,if you want to prefer to the past,you should say "Not having had a car,she found it difficult to get around"

about your question,my answer is "no" ,both positive and negative sentences have past and present meanings,it's up to the context...
