Default question

hi,i have 2 questions. 1=the word NEWS :i want to know about this word, what is it come from?i mean the base of this word, does it mean plural of new events or some thing else?

2=what do u call the person who (for example when you lend money to sb and he or she doesn't give it back to u in the time he promissed you and ppl prefer not to lend him money because he give it back very late or never) and what is opposite of this word (person who gives money back in time so ppl r satisfied of lending him money)

hi,
1.The word "news" comes from a special use of the plural of the word "new" ,and from the four cardinal directions (north, east, west, and south).

2. i'm not sure about the second one maybe we can say "a good pay person".

All the best,
