Hello!! My question has to do with "no" and "not". When WE must use it? WHAT is the difference between them?

'No' is a response.
'Not' denotes a negative.

Ex.
Leila said, "Are you going to the club tonight?"
Jack responded, "No."

John said, "I am not going to the club tonight."
