Question help with diffrences between past tenses

hi can someone please help me to understand the diffrences between the four diffrent tenses below

State as many usages as possible of the past tenses below, with an example sentence for each usage

a) Past simple
b) Past continuous
c) Past perfect
d) Past perfect continuous

a) I walked to school yesterday.
b) I was walking in the rain.
c) I have walked in the rain before.
d) I have been walking to school all year.


Other examples can be deduced by the student.
