Default Personal Statement

Hi, I would like to ask you following.
I am applying for the college and I have to write personal statement. I have been out of school for 7 years and i need some guider how to write in english personal statement. I am from the Czech rep. so my first language is not english. Do you have any idea where I can find some samples of how personal statement for college should look like? I would say describe yourself. Talk about your academic background, and also talk about your family history and your work history.
