1. How do we form the possessive of the nouns that end in "s". I read that if it's one syllable we should add "'s" thus--Bess's bag...and if it's two syllable we should add an apostrophe only like, Jesus'...but if the pronunciation of the possessive gives the word an extra syllable, add "'s" like Louis's car...
My question is, doesn't the word "Jesus'" form another syllable? Is "Jesus's" also possible. I'm confused.

Wrong rule. Syllabification has nothing to do with it. There is some contention, but most accept the 's after words ending in s for all but a few historical names: Jesus, Socrates, Moses.
