I was reading the cockney rhyming on this site and saw al capone for telephone...but I remember that when I lived in London, people told me it was DOG and BONE for the phone...so, could it be both? By the way, congratulations on this site..I actually like it so much that I have it as my main page...

It could indeed be both as cockney rhyming slang can have alternatives for the same thing, and it could changed according to what was current at the time. However, dog and bone is the only one I have heard for phone.
