when addressing a group....
like a class or students, should Class be capitalized?
eg. "Okay, Class, turn to the next page," said the teacher.
Or should it be lower case, "Okay, class, turn...."
Thanks for your help.

Opinion will probably be divided, but I favour the capital.

I favor the capital too, but I would have class begin the sentence. I okay is a little too informal for the teacher to use in such a situation. In any case, I would say turn the page, not turn to the next page.
(Is the teacher the authority in the classroom or is she the students' equal?)

It depends. 'OK' is often used by teachers as a framing move- to signal a change, so if this came in the middle of a lesson, it would be fine IMO.

IMO.

That does make sense.

thanks everyone
I think I will go with the capital Class (unless I get an objection in the next few days :)), since it is used more like a noun than a category.

Because it refers to a single group of people, it does seem to be a proper noun in the context.
