A heterosexual is someone who is attracted to the opposite sex, while a homosexual is someone who is attracted to the same sex.

Self goaling is not a phrase I have heard before. I have heard set your/my own goals - to establish my own targets/objectives.

To hang up one's boots generally means to retire from your job or to stop doing an activity such as sport.
