My teacher asked,"Why are you late?"
I answered , "Because I sleep too much." ( Is this sentence correct in English Language usage.) In this situation, how does native speaker say?
It's correct, WM, it's just not a natural response to the teacher's question. I don't even know if it's true. "I sleep too much" means that you spend an abnormal amount of time sleeping.
I think what tyou wanted to say is; "I overslept" OR "I slept in".
Similarly, I work too much.
Okay.
I sit [down] too much.
Okay, but better without 'down'.
I eat rice too much.
This is possible but the normal word order would be,
I eat too much rice.
Are they also correct in English?
