Could someone tell me if the tenses in the following paragraph are correct? I'm worrying especially about the red phrase... There was an author in 1993 who wrote an article about this - and authors still share his opinion (for example: Humble). So, is this possible / correct??

The word later irritates me in combination with has been seen. What about changing it to came to be seen?
