Default How do we say in the situation?

Dear teacher,
I'd like to know how English native speaker would say in the situation.

The road is full of rocks and pebbles and a car is going straight on it. How would English native speaker describe the up and down movement when the car is running on the road. Is it "The car is moving unsteadily" or would they use the verb "stumble" ? I saw a sentence like this: The car jerked on the pebble road. The use of the verb "jerked" seems very strange because "jerk" is not used to describe an up-and-down movement, but to describe an sudden forward or backward movement. Please tell me how would you say in the situation. Billions thanks.

"The car bumped along the road."

The car bounced along the bumpy road.
The car jerked and swerved along the bumpy road. <-- (If the driver was wildly steering from right to left to avoid the larger rocks)
