A situation/scene

I don't know how to describe or write in a formal way for this scene:

X is a business man.He is introducing some of the officers from other companies to his boss.So he starts like this:"Mr.Adam",he pointed,"Mr.Tom,Mr.Ron,and Mr.Edward".

Should I use 'he pointed' there or 'he introduced','he started'...something like that,any suggestions?

this is Mr.Tom ..etc

"Gentlemen, may I present my boss, Mr. X. Mr. X., I'd like you to meet Mr. Adam." The man at the end of the table stood up and shook hands. "...and this is Mr. Tom, Mr. Ron, and Mr. Edward," I continued, introducing each officer in turn.
