phrase definition
I'm trying to remember the term for the interjection of a phrase in a sentence. For instance:
"Paul, an outstanding athlete, was recently awarded a scholarship to the University of Utah."
Thank you in advance!

It's called an appositive phrase The phrase "an outstanding athlete" is used in apposition in the above example.
