Hi Raiph.

1. a companion is a person; e.g., traveling companion, or an animal; e.g., a pet

2. the word furnishings refers to furnture and fittings in a room

3. packed means overcrowded
The meeting room became packed long before the meeting began, and many late comers had to stay ouside in the cold.

4. spot refers to a particular place, where as location tells us where something is located. Try, The police had a hard time discovering the exact spot...

5. decrease is to make or become smaller, or fewer, whereas reduce is to make or become less.

Hope that helps.
