Both of American and British English experts' help is appreciated.

Is it true that also is more formal than as well and too, and that in BrE as well is used like too, but in AmE it sounds formal or old-fashioned?

Also is said to come before the main verb (I also spent some time in Iowa) but I've seen in put at the end of a sentence. Is the meaning changed in this case.

Too is supposed to be placed at the end of a sentence but sometimes it comes before the main verb (I, too,.......................)

Please include examples!

If 'also' comes at the end, I would generally think it associated with the subject of the sentence.
