Hi, myself and 2 colleagues have been pulling our hair out trying to remember the correct term for when a colour is also a definite object Eg orange - is a colour and a fruit.
Any help would be greatly recieved.Kelly
Welcome, marsius.
The term you're looking for is homonym or contrastive ambiguity, like: orange (color) and orange (fruit); pink (color) and pink (vessel); column (architectural element) and column (text arrangement); bank (river) and bank (money).
Hope that helps.![]()
