Hello Teachers!
Please help.
Re:From the 1950s popular song lyrics (proclaiming/to proclaim) that "Captain Smith and Pocahontas Had a Very Mad Affair" to the 1995 Walt Disney animated film, the legend of Pocahontas has been widely popular in American culture.
It's a selecting right word quiz. According to the answer, "proclaiming" is right.
Why not use "to proclaim" instead of "proclaiming". I'd like to know the reason.
Thanks in advance.
The infinitive would, for me, imply that this was their purpose, while the -ing form just refers to the contents of the lyrics.
