confusion
hi,
Is there a difference between saying and proverb? If so than please give me examples, too.
best wishes,
madox

Re: confusion
They're often used interchangeably, though a proverb generally encapsulates some folk wisdom, while saying might be used in a wider sense to include idiomatic phrases or phrases that come from a specific source, like Shakespeare quotes that have come into wide use. However, generally there doesn't really seem to be much difference to me.
