What is the differnce between relationship and relation exactly?

My relationship with him ended.
My relation with him ended .

which one sounds better? And why?

The first. I would use 'relation' for a family member and 'relations' for the dealings of a friendship, etc.

Also, i wonder if there is differnce between realtion and relations. Could you be more specific?

Relation = cousin, etc (can obviously have plural)
Relations = the way you get on with someone- I have good relations with my boss.
