Hi, I don't understand this one, could you help me
"They include off-the-market traffic forecasts, volatile user charges and lawsuits after acquiring large tracts of land."
Thanks
If something's off the market, it is done privately, so it could be private land deals, as this seems to be the topic, rather than conventional, official sales. If a charge is volatile it is capable of changing quite dramatically- the opposite of stable- so it could flctuate considerably.![]()
Just one more question. I read an article about an American private -equity funds and one sentence is very strange and I need help.
" Whereas buy-out groups consider America a maturing market, they regard the old world, especially continental Europe, as a land of promise. Its cushioned corporate ways are particularly irresistible: the more padding there is to remove, the greater the potential rewards"
I dont understand the words with red.
maturing means growing up or ready to invest or something like this
thanks
and what is the meaning of the" pace "of leveraged buy-outs

maturing- getting old
cushioned- protected
irresistible-they want to get hold of the market
padding- excess
In other words, there is a lot of excess and waste in Europe that buy-out groups would like to get their hands on- they buy the companies and strip the excess assets and cash and pocket it.![]()
thank you so much, you are great!
